My Most Motivated Day Since the End of Exams

May 17, 2008

Today marks the most motivated day that I had ever since I completed my exams on the 5th of May. My fun-loving self decided to start the day right instead of the usual slacking and playful mode.

Want to know how much I enjoyed myself since 5th May?

Here goes…

5th May PM: After the exams, I went to Holland Village for a good sumptuous meal of pizza and baked rice from N.Y.D.C. and a couple of drinks at the nearby Breko (oh gosh.. u should check out their 2 for $12 deal! lol!)

6th May: Slept till early afternoon before I went over to Calvin’s place where we carried out our movie marathon and watched movies such as Along Came Polly. We ordered take out too because we were too lazy to go to the nearby food centre to pack lunch!

7th May: We both woke up really early to go fetch Jonathan from the airport! We had the BK breakfast and broke Jonathan to his hotel to check in. Then we went to Chinatown and went for the YUM CHA buffet!! lol! We really ate till we were stuffed and hung out in Chinatown which Jon said, “Man.. it looks just like in the movies!” ūüėõ

oh no.. I can’t remember the in-betweens!!

10th May: My cousin’s wedding! I was there for the tea ceremony, photo shoot and even hosted the wedding dinner!! Gosh!! It was a mighty tiring day and I indulged in my Starbucks Cafe Latte and the Almond Butter cake… woooo.. it was heavenly especially when I was suffering from the lack of sleep!

11th May: It was a powerful service held in the indoor stadium and I was really revitalized with God’s love. I’ve not had such a powerful annointing since a long time.. But it certainly caused me to go on a powerful embark on ‘after-school’ life! We went to Bugis for our lunch at Swenson’s and indulged in the new Hazelnut Ice Cream Sundae they had… it was heavenly!! Sim Lim Square was our next stop and Jonathan really indulged in buying a lot (i mean a lot) of gadgets! Haha.. As for Calvin and I, we finally bought our first digicam together.. My old digicam’s cost was shared between the 2 men in my life – my dad and calvin.. (my dad’s extra!!) lol! this time, it’s just the two of us….

and, I watched the EPL finals with my dearest Xiaowen! It was Man Utd’s night ok! And I was there to witness it!! Hahaa.. It felt sooo good to see Ryan Giggs lifting up the trophy LIVE!!

12th May: SENTOSA (an offshore island)!! Need I say more? Hahaha..

13th May: I can’t remember again!! But it was Jonathan’s last day in Singapore… oh!! We went to Orchard to do final shopping…

14th May: It was boohoohoo bon voyage to Jonathan and Calvin and I just fell asleep and we slept till it was dinner time!! Hahaa.. then we went to.. mmm.. was it Crystal Jade? (I think so..) for dinner!! Yummmmmy…!

15th and 16th May: I was just slacking while my dear Calvin was busy doing his work… hahaha.. I was just stoning into the computer!!

NOW, I’m finally on the go!

I started this day really cool by planning exactly what I wanted to accomplish right at the beginning of the day. I decided not to be tooo ambitious and I concentrated on the top 5 most important things to do.
1. Blog an entry (which I did earlier!)
2. Set assignments for 5 individual freelancers

3. Finish up my work on our latest project
4. Clear clothes off the sofa bed (which is a pile by the way)

5. Clear my room (it was in an utter mess but not now!)

Well, it might not seem like a lot that i accomplished but I can be sure that if i hadn’t set those goals at the beginning of the day, I bet today would have just gone wasted! It just goes to show how important it is to set goals not only on a long term basis but also a short term one such that we are constantly challenged everyday to accomplish a little that adds up to go a long way.

So start making it a habit to set daily goals to make sure that your energies will be focused and targeted towards achieving the outcomes you desire!

mmm.. which gives me that idea to start blogging at the beginning of the day to share with you my daily goals and to review at the end of the day, whether I have achieve them.. wow.. sounds like a cool feat.. let’s see if I do accomplish that ya!!! haha.. ūüėÄ do cheer me on!!

Help to Motivate Me to My Mazda 6 in 2008!

October 10, 2007

Today’s journey home at 8.25pm was an agonising one. I don’t know why at that time, there were still many people on their way home and on the MRT trains. Aren’t they supposed to be home already? Busy eating their dinners? Watching television? Relaxing? I wish I was but I was busy in school till late, so that explains my lonely journey home on the MRT train.

So there I was, one of the sardines packed in the can. It was agonising, having to stand throughout the journey,¬†squeeze with bunch of people who were with grouchy faces,¬†smelling of¬†perspiration and not with the slightest bit of courtesy (of moving towards the centre of the train and not blocking the doors). Plus, did I tell you the ‘aromatic’ scents of the train…? Oh goodness, I think SMRT could do with some air fresheners in the trains. Anyway, all I could think about was¬†just having my own car, being able to drive myself home comfortably…

Oh yeah! I know those who have cars are saying, “You think so good life ar? There’s traffic jams on the ECP, AYE, PIE, SLE, TPE, BKE, blah blah.. And you feel as though you’re playing bump bump cars sometimes…” (pardon the Singlish by the way. that’s how we talk in Singapore)

BUT WHO CARES?! Owning a car gives me the convenience to drive wherever I want and not be at the mercies of grouchy fellow passengers, smelly, stinky and underventilated buses/ trains etc.)

Anyway, here’s my dream maiden car (as in my first ever car, LOL!), the Mazda 6:

Mazda 6 2008

So anyway, Calvin asked me, “You want the car in 2008 right? So, what are you going to do to get this car?”

Me: “Get the money?”

Calvin: “How?”

Me: “Mmm… continue IM-ing?”

Calvin: “But, what have you done so far?”

Me: scratches head “Erm… not really anything.. *embarrassed*…”

Calvin: “So what are you going to do to get yourself motivated to get the car by 2008?”

Me: “AHHHHH…. here goes..

I will visualise the feeling of getting the car in 2008 after graduation.

Gosh.. all sorts of images flooded my mind and I became sooo ecstatic! I needed to let this tremendous feeling sink in and encourage¬†me to persist despite all odds (making money online isn’t¬†that easy, fyi).

I needed to create a reward system to encourage myself.

I decided to reward myself (with¬†a treat)¬†for every level of $$¬†that I¬†set myself to attain/ save and for every successful internet marketing ‘project’ or task that is completed. Yeah yeah, it’s quite¬†a shallow reward system but it’s definitely going to help me¬†get closer to my car and desired lifestyle! I feel that setting¬†something gratifying to indulge in after completing a certain undertaking is a great way to relax¬†and enjoy at the same¬†time after hard work.

I will surround myself with people who will support and encourage me all the way.

Being with people who have the same beliefs and aspirations as mine will just serve to create and maintain a very powerful, kind of motivation. And I’m really thankful that my business partner and sweetheart is just the person to be around me to motivate me all the way!

I will treate myself well.

Puzzled? Haha.. I meant that I will¬†take care of myself¬†and exercise¬†regularly in order to maintain¬†vigor and energy in my daily activities (i.e. Concentrating on developing new ideas for Kanggie, blogging, surfing the net, reading up on IM etc.) that will help me focus and move closer to my goal of getting my¬†car. I’ll take breaks and naps when time allows (this worries Calvin because to¬†him, i’m quite a lazy piggie.. lol!)¬†But it’s really important to take sufficient sleep, relax¬†and recharge after a¬†hard day’s work because Success won’t matter if you don’t have good health to enjoy it!”

I was pretty proud of¬†myself and to make my commitment even¬†greater, that’s why this post is up on my blog – to constantly remind me the motivation that I have towards getting closer to my goal! By the way, I will greatly appreciate if you have any motivational stories, advice, etc that you might want to share with me. It will be one of the steps for¬†me to surround myself positive people! So, just leave a comment for this blog post!

Well, I’m all fired up and motivated to go!¬†Wish me luck! ūüėÄ ¬†
