I’ve really taken a long break from blogging at PatriciaLin.com, simply because I just don’t have time to. Blogging on my personal life has also become a little weird because I realized that there are increasingly more people/strangers (Nobody’s a stranger now with the internet) who are reading my blog on my personal/business life.
Also, there’s ONE main reason. Because I didn’t know what to talk about in this blog. I felt that I gradually lost sight of the reason why I have this blog in the first place. Was it to just talk about IM stuff or was it a way of updating my friends about what is happening in my life?
At the end of the day, I realized that PatriciaLin.com is really for me to share my personal life story (which comprises of life, love and of course my business). Which sparked me to even change everything on my blog. To make it more personal. More of me. 🙂
I just wish i have more time to update this blog.
Boils down to Time Management at the end of the day.
Before I sign out from here, just a couple of updates to everyone on how I’m doing: (with regards to common questions I’m getting from people):
– Yes, I have graduated (like in 2008??)
– No, I do not have a job.
– But Yes, I am still running my online/internet business with my boyfriend.
– No, we are not married.
-Yes, I am still attached to that same boyfriend (together for 4 years now. :P)
– Yes we do have plans to get married one day.
– No, I’m not working from home now.
-Yes, cos I got an office in the CBD district.
– Yes, we finally got the car. 😀
– No, it’s not a second-hand. it’s a new 2010 Mazda 3..
– Yes, thank God we got it before the ridiculous COE hike.
That pretty much sums it all.
Haha.. I will post up blog posts answering questions that people have for me on a daily basis. But that’s pretty much it.
Do check out this space for more from me!
With everyday that goes by, I always think, should I change my blog theme?
To tell you the truth, my WordPress installation is now all screwed up because of the upgrade that I did earlier on which distorted my database. I can’t post categories and all my posts are not properly tagged anymore.
I’m so tempted to just start afresh but then again, I don’t wish to lose all the stuffs that I have blogged before.
So what should I do?
Anyone has any advice?
Have you always wondered why people or in fact bloggers have the ‘writer’s block’?
Because I’ve encountered that countless number of times in my entire life and I just don’t understand why this block occurs. It seems to me that it is a result in my ever anxious desire to write well and when I do have the feeling that I might not write well, I just block all creativity and joy in writing.
I think sometimes, I take things too seriously where suddenly the fun of doing it, especially blogging just starts to dwindle. It’s not that I lack things to write but because I’ve not allowed myself to express what I feel about things freely. Notice the difference between my old personal blogs and this one. Well, frankly the stark contrast is that I have matured as a blogger and as a person.
But I’ve been taking my blogging seriously because I don’t wish to make my readers feel that ‘It’s just another blog’. It’s meant to make people want to come back again and again (which I think I need to work on). I guess it’s because I haven’t really seen the bigger picture of what I want to accomplish with my blog. Sigh.. But at least I do have an idea.
Now, I’m a pending graduate (have yet to receive my last semester exam results and go through the ceremony) but I’m almost there. It’s the best time to start planning to make commitments to a lot of things.. let’s make ‘blogging regularly’ one of them. 😉
Will be uploading pictures from Jonathan’s trip to Singapore soon.. once i get hold of our (Calvin and Mine) new digicam’s cable!! It’s a really cool Olympus digital camera!! 😀
Till the next post..
After much procrastination, my blog is going to undergo a revamp.
So for now, I’ll be using the default template.
Pray hard that I’ll get it over and done with soon ya! 😀
Well, I’ve shared with you the idea of creating a blog and how your blog can help bring in some money for you! After the start of my blog post series, I’ve got friends who msn-ed me on what exactly do they need to do and are asking for advice. So now that I have shared with you the ‘WHY’ of starting a blog and to end off the blog series, I’m going to talk about ‘HOW’ you can start your blog.
Firstly, you need to sign up with a blogging platform. The one that I’m using is WordPress, Blogger and LiveJournal which also provide the service too.
Next, pick out a theme for your blog and also the topic that you are going to blog about. You need to be specific about what you are blogging about in order to be able to reach out to your target audience. Let’s say you are blogging about Female Healthcare, you would want to narrow down to the specific group of females you are targetting. Let’s say teenagers. After which, you need to narrow down to the specific category of health care. Is it going to be on facial care, hair care, psychological care or just physical wellness? So you need to be specific.
Finally, start blogging!!! Insert a lot of content and information into your blog! Try to link with sites that are relevant to your site as well as try to find blogs that are also in the same niche. Get to know more people – fellow bloggers as well as your blog readers and visitors!
After which, sign up with Google adsense and get the ad codes to place on your blog. You need to either do a Google search on affiliate programs which are related to your blog content or go to Clickbank to search its marketplace for affiliate programs too. You can go to Payperpost to find assignments to blog about too! 🙂
