We all have our quirks and flaws. It’s sometimes simply because it’s just the way we are. We flare up, throw tantrums, sigh and just vent our frustrations on our loved ones. But when you know that despite all that, you are loved, then you know you are the recipient of unconditional love.
I feel that unconditional love is something that surpasses all logical thinking. Logic can’t explain unconditional love because it defies all of logic’s reasoning and practicality. Logic can’t phantom why someone can love another despite being subjected to unfair treatment etc.
What I love about unconditional love is that it’s forgiving, always showered without any particular reason and most of all, it’s from the heart.
“4 Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
He said to me today,
“I will do anything that will make you smile.”
I first wore glasses when I was in Primary 1. That was back in 1993. I still remember my first pair of glasses and they were hugeeeee & had pink rims around them. I still have them because I thought I’d keep them in remembrance of the day I no longer had perfect eyesight.
I gradually moved on and changed spectacles as my degree increased. I wore gold frames, plastic frames, silver frames to coloured frames. My favourite has got to be my ‘Burberry’ look alike frames that I had in JC days. I had a friend who thought I looked like a country pumpkin. But hey, the trend caught on and many others have gotten similar designs like those dark rimmed framed glasses you see these days.
Like every vain girl with no perfect eyesight, I switched to lens. I thank God for lens because well, I look better with them. However, the trouble is caring for my eyes while using them and basically, I fear damaging my eyes as I use them. Lens are after all external items placed on your eyes. And there have been instances of solution contamination that resulted in damage to the eyes. – that scares me-
Until recently, a couple of my friends have gone for Lasik. And all seem to be enjoying their “close-to-perfect” eyesight because they no longer need to use glasses, they don’t need to grope around in the dark for their glasses, they have chucked away all their lens cleaning solutions and they can stay up till late and not worry about removing and cleaning their lens.
Boy, do I wish for that luxury again.
Then again, I fear undergoing the surgery because I generally have not had a good experience with surgery (oh as if there is someone who has right?). But I’m really starting to weigh the pros and cons and hopefully, one day perhaps I will have that perfect eyesight I’ve been dreaming of.
If you have gone for Lasik, i would really appreciate if you could share your experience with me. Perhaps I will then have a more committed desire to following up and finding out more about the surgery, the risks & dangers and also benefits.[poll id=”4″]

Calvin and I always try to catch a movie on a weekend or weekday night to destress and we decided to catch The Proposal! It’s been a long time since Sandra Bullock starred in a comedy other than Miss Congeniality so I was looking forward to seeing this film for the longest time!
And I must say the movie was really really funny! Although I thought that the plot was a little unrealistic cos you are marrying someone whom you have hated for 3 years and loved for 3 days. Oh come on, how on earth is that logically possible? Unless it’s by God’s divine intervention. Haha..
I was actually quite surprised that Ryan Reynolds really did his role pretty well! I thought he was charming unlike all the other movies he has done before. This has got to be his best performance – main lead anyway.
Sandra Bullock’s wardrobe was simply amazing! I loved the black smart suit that she adorned. I love black power suits because they exude a sense of elegance and power. I like. 😛 But it’s so sad that she’s called ‘Poisonous Snake’, ‘Bitch’ etc. in the office (in the movie that is). But i guess, in a real office, people do say such stuff. 🙁 I certainly hope none of my employees have that kind of nickname for me. Haha..
Acting by Sandra’s the same – great. She’s just so into her character and she really depicted the modern day woman – powerful, authoritative, rich yet materialistic. The ‘family’ theme was certainly a heartwarming aspect of the movie or else, it will just be lame-o humour about a boss and her employee having to get hitched and her employee does so out of a promotion agreement.
Overall, the movie had its moments where you just can’t stop laughing. Well, I shouldn’t spoil the movie for you! So basically, go catch it while it’s still in the cinemas because you won’t want to miss out on this comedy!
If you have already watched it, let me know what you think of it!

Annually I realized that I always do a blog revamp of my blog theme and layout. I think it’s because I’m a person who doesn’t like the same thing over again and having a new look just serves to mark a new chapter in my life. And this current blog theme is just perfect at the moment because it marks the new chapter in my entrepreneurial activities and the start of a whole new direction that my online business is taking.
But I want to know what you think of my new blog theme! Just cast your vote below. 🙂
Well, next up – just some updates about our office. Calvin and I have finalized our tenancy and we’re just about to sign the agreement. There are quite a few paperwork to be done but thank God He’s always helping us with everything.
The funny thing is that I realized that the landlord whom we are renting our office space is actually the supplier of my uncle’s business! It’s certainly a very small world! We are occupying the 2nd floor of his building which is along South Bridge Road. (More details will be revealed closer to our move-in).
Last update is…
We’re travelling again!
Calvin and I are heading to Perth & Melbourne from the 20th to 27th of September. It’s a break that we thought we wanted to take just before we start our operations at the new office. Anyone has any suggestions as to what we have to do or see while we are there?
Let me know! 😉

Today marks the 4th anniversary of the day God introduced me and Calvin to each other in His own special way.
20th August 2005.
Tanah Merah MRT.
A Jack Russell.
A Taxi Cab.(with 2 jokers)
HP & MSN.
Other people who were ‘part of it’ include: Weixiong, Shiva and NUS BizCom ’05/06 Freshmen Orientation people
Friends who are close to us would know of the mysterious way God worked to let us know each other. It seemed planned yet seemed all a coincidence. But of course, we like to believe that God was our ‘matchmaker’ and pulled the strings to bring us to where we are today.
4 years ago, we wouldn’t have thought we would be here we are today. It’s amazing. In 4 years, we’ve graduated, travelled together to South Korea & Mauritius, registered 2 companies, made the headlines of a local paper, got on TV and got our own office. The road has been an awesome one and I just know it’s going to get more exciting. We have gotten our office space in a prime location just outside of the CBD (details will be revealed closer to October) and we’re looking forward to setting the office up and moving in by the first week of October.
Designing is in its way with me drawing and erasing on the floor plan. It’s a really fun process and at the same time, it just made us realize how important it is for us to plan our steps ahead and to look forward to the things that are going to happen for us. Though I do not deny that I do have my worries and fears but having them doesn’t solve any problem. The only way is to just move forward and push for our dreams and success.
At 18 years old back then, i never dreamt of owning my own company and office. Today at 23 years old, I can only say that my faith in God and the people around me brought me to where I am today. I know that ‘the best is yet to be’ (my favourite motto ever since my 1st 3 months stint at ACJC longgg time ago) and I’m just getting ready for the best ride I’m ever going to have.
I’ve made a commitment to actually update my blog more regularly in order to make sure that people do know what’s happening to us. Because I hate to have that feeling that people think our newspaper feature is just a one-time publicity stint. It’s not. We are now a full-fledged Internet Marketing company since 2007 and we are looking to establish our presence even more so now. 🙂
So stay tuned to Calvin Woon and Patricia Lin! 😀
