Don’t Sacrifice Your Health For Technology! (Part 1)

June 2, 2007

I’ve been spending a lot of time on the computer this holidays because I need to manage my internet business and IMOVATORS LLP’s matters as well as keeping in touch with so many people online!

While using the computer, it is inevitable for me to play music from my favourite German Radio Station, HR YOU FM, to alleviate the loneliness of staring at a screen all day and to just listen to the latest german and english tracks.

Moreover, I watch loads of videos online too. From YOUtube to those from an online program. But I realised that I may have been unknowingly damaging my ears with my ear phones high in volume when my father commented to me that he could hear the music coming out from my earphones when he’s sitting rather far away from me!

I’ve been damaging my ears! Are you doing it too? Are you playing your music so loud that others in a room can hear exactly what you are listening too? Are you playing your music for long hours while you’re on the computer or when you are out on the roads? Are you always plugged into your MP3 player?

If you are,  you better start changing your habits and picking these up!!!

Have A Positive Attitude!

May 5, 2007

Sometimes, circumstances can influence your attitude towards your predicament or situation and you wonder, how a person who is normally optimistic or has a positive attitude, can suddenly turn negative. Well, our attitude is the way of looking at the world. There are definitely situational factors that influence our attitudes, behaviour and thoughts. But it’s always important to maintain a positive attitude despite being faced with challenges or situations that just cause you to just be flooded with negative thoughts.

Now, just listen to your thoughts. What thoughts fill your head? Are they positive, or negative?

Well, your thoughts are very powerful because they can affect your attitude! Which in turn, can affect your appearance, your physical well being and your behaviour. Last but not least, it can also affect people around you. Think about the people you hang out with. Are they people with positive or negative attitudes?

I’m sure you feel more relaxed and happy when around people with positive attitude. That’s because Positive Thoughts have a filling effect and are motivating. So people with  positive thoughts are usually energized by this type of attitude. And because they have such a positive attitude, they attract people to them. They attract the good things to them.

Negative thoughts on the other hand have a sapping effect on people. Aside from making you look gloomy and sad, negative thoughts can turn a a joyous occasion into a depressing one. And sad to say, people are repelled from those with negative attitude. If you choose to focus on the negative things in the world, your negative attitude will be reflected in every aspect of your life.

Seriously speaking, you have much to gain from a very positive attitude. A positive attitude promotes better health, encourages better socialising with people and you will be able to handle stress and problems better because you are optimistic that things will get better or instead of harping on what you can’t do, you might be searching for solutions. Problems also become something you can overcome.

A positive attitude starts with a healthy outlook of life and self. You need to love the way you are and be satisfied and  confident. Moreover, others around you need to be functioning in the same manner as you are, in order for you to get support. feel the same way. If you want a healthier outlook in life, you need to think happy thoughts, and you have to hear positive things as well.

How To Be Motivated For Your Success!

April 1, 2007

Gosh.. I’m really sorry for not updating regularly! I’ve been quite busy with school and with the exams nearing, I just have been neglecting YOU, my blog reader and I’m so sorry about it.

But I’ve got an interesting post today – How To Be Motivated For Your Success! While I’ve been busy with school and workshops etc, I realised that there are 4 main sources of motivation that can allow you to reaffirm your ability, recharge your drive and rejuvenate your inspiration. You will need these sources of motivation to be continue being on the pathway towards success!

1. Your Family

>>The influence of your family in your life is so great that it cannot be compared to the approval of peers and experts who may be important to your career. Most of the time, a person’s motivation comes from his family. For instance if you think about why you are working so hard to achieve success, wealth and happiness it is because you want to be able to provide for your family and for them to have what they want. “Blood is thicker than water”. Hence no matter what your family will be your core motivation for your success because they are always with you no matter what happens.

2. Your Peers

>>Your motivation comes from the recognition from your peers. Research has shown that what really motivates a person to fight for something is when he has a desire for the respect of the person who is fighting right beside him. Your peers’ recognition is so much more important than medals or other forms of public recognition because you want them to be able to respect you for what you have done and also to look up to you. By having the recognition from your peers, you’ll be more motivated to work harder and to be ahead of them. And by being ahead, it means that you’ll always work faster and harder towards your success.

3. Experts or authorities

>>You also want to gain recognition from the experts in your field. It is important to realise that a respected expert does not have to be someone who is known far and wide throughout the world – you establish the qualifications. But it is often that people whom you find impressive will be equally impressive to others. Once you’ve met such a person, or even if you have just seen them from a distance or perhaps read an article about them, stop hesitating and politely approach them and introduce yourself. Unless you happen to catch them at a particularly difficult moment, most successful people are eager to help others and to pass on what they’ve learned. In that way, you can also be as successful as them!

4. The Ability to Share Wealth, Knowledge and Wisdom

>> What motivates you is this ability to share with other people your wealth, knowledge and also wisdom. Knowing that a lot of people will benefit from what you are doing will motivate you and push you to work harder and it is this ability to allows you to gain recognition from others as well. Hence, it is a really powerful source of motivation which I believe all great leaders have.

Motivation that we receive or have involves other people, whether they are peers, mentors, family members, or simply fellows of the human race. These people in our lives serves to push us along in the rat race and in the quest for excellence, success and survival. In order to feel motivated and the need to work towards your goals, dreams and success, you need to recognise other people as your motivation and push yourself with this knowledge.

Public Speaking Tips

Speak With Confidence To An Audience!

March 27, 2007

I’ve not been blogging regularly because of school work. I have 2 reports and 1 presentation due this week and guess what! I’ve got them all done before the deadline! 🙂

But I have to still prepare for my presentation this Friday and I was just psyching myself up the other day – constantly repeating to myself that I’m such a great speaker! lol~! But even a ‘seasoned’ speaker like myself, does get jittery once in awhile.

But let me tell you why it is so important to hone your speaking skills, especially if you are a real estate agent, insurance agent, sales person etc. It is because presentation and public speaking is one of the most efficient as well as effective manner in making your products and services known.

Believe it or not, fear of death is actually second to the one greatest fear that the majority of humanity seems tensely afraid of: fear of speaking in public.

If fear is all that you are thinking, then forget about that presentation that could earn your company and you the necessary sales.

But why deny your chance to be heard?

Well, if you are challenged to give it a try, I applaud you and here are some tips that I use that I would like to share with you!
