A lot of Internet Marketers or Bloggers that I know love to emphasise the point that it is important to attract the crowds and a variety of applications – form of traffic generation. Some recommend having photos, audio clips, podcasts and videos on their blog. But….. if I’m not wrong, well, not many seem to be practising what they preach. Camera-shy maybe? But I know I may be wrong.
Well, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XutqMq9I8_s
This is a video that was done by Calvin and myself at the beginning of this year. It can also be found at our 7 Ways To Earn Money Online website now. We came up with this video because we realised the importance of a video clip on a website. It takes time to prepare, record and edit the video. But it’s all worth it.
Well, then what can putting up audio and video clips on your blog or website do for you?
Well, firstly no doubt, it livens up your blog and at least, there’s something to break the monotony that comes with a whole bunch of words that you’ve typed in your blog post. Sure, photos can do the same job but I don’t think that they are as effective in capturing attention.
Moreover, more information can be communicated through audio or video clips much faster than a blog post. Because it requires less effort for understanding – we see or listen. And there’s the power of persuasion in a voice. The audio and video clips do encourage people to sign up for more information and well, be more inclined to be a subscriber of your site!
As mentioned, the power of persuasion is greater through the use of audio or video clips and it helps in the promotion of well, services and products at your blog. Especially now, that more people are aware of internet marketing and want to venture into setting a website that promotes products etc, well, audio and video clips are great mediums!
Do you know that your audio and video clips can be act as a short, impactful advertisements?
But it’s dependent on how you do it!
So How Do You Do It?
1. Write up a script.
>> Well, make it short and simple in the form of a basic outline of points that you would want to bring up in your clip. But do include impactful words to gain attention.
2. Get the necessary equipments that you need.
>> A camcorder, a microphone, a tripod stand, video and audio editing software (I recommend NeroVision and Adobe Audition for real beginners and starters)
3. Either record yourself or have someone do it for you.
>> Record yourself at a suitable distance and project your voice well. Moreover, make sure that the tone in which you say everything is convincing and credible.
4. Edit your video/audio clips.
>> Take a few hours to edit it and make it perfect because sometimes, it is difficult to edit it till it sounds flawless. You might want to get a second opinion after doing so, to see if you have managed to accomplish what you want to, with the use of the audio/video clips!
Let’s say you are recommending a product or service, it’s better that you use audio or video clips to do the job!
Coz, as your readers can see your face, listen to your speak, it helps to build your credibility. Get customer testimonials and expert interviews done through this mediums because it can help to show visitors that others are demonstrating trust in you and makes it easier for them to believe in you and your products.
You not only can have these audio and video clips on your blog/website, you can also submit them to websites such as Google™ Video, YouTube, and MySpace. It acts as free publicity when you mention your blog/site in the description area and in the recording itself to draw visitors to your website.
Now that you have the rough idea of what it does, GET DOWN TO IT!
Perhaps you can out-do Calvin and I with coming up with a better video! 😉
